FIFA 23 will be officially available starting September 30 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, PC and Google Stadia.
Also this year there will be only 2 editions available, which will differ only for the additional content, especially for the gift bonuses for the Ultimate Team mode.
Versions for PS5, Xbox Series X / S and Stadia and PC will contain exclusive features, in particular those related to Hypermotion Technology 2.0, designed for the consoles of new generation.
Versions for PS4, Xbox One instead will be “old gen”of the older generation, and will contain only some of the innovations introduced in FIFA 23
It is also provided a “Legacy” version for Nintendo Switch which will contain only a squad and uniforms update and will not differ from the Switch version released in previous years.

It should be emphasized, given that the name often generates confusion especially among less experienced users, that the only difference between the various editions are the additional bonuses and that the game is IDENTICAL, and that, for example, the Champions League is, obviously, present in all editions
Regarding the redemption of bonuses:
- Those who purchase the digital version will not have to do any operation to receive them
- Those who buy the disc version will have to redeem them using a special code to be entered on the PSN / Xbox Live store. The code must be provided by the store where the purchase was made or on a coupon or receipt (or, as in the case of Amazon, via the email sent by the well-known online store at the time of shipment)

Two different versions are available, one for the old gen consoles (PS4 / Xbox One) and one for the new generation ones. It is not possible to get the free upgrade to the new generation version!

FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition and Standard Edition FAQ
Pre-order bonuses are reserved for those who book FIFA 23 before the official release date, so until 23:59 on September 29th. The only exception is the Heroes guaranteed package for which reservations are required by August 21st
No, FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition this year is only available in digital version. Some stores allow you to purchase the download code but do not have the CD version available, which will not, as mentioned, be produced.
Unfortunately, there is no update, neither free nor paid, to switch from the PS4 version to the PS5 version. You will still be able to use the PS4 game on the Playstation 5, but of course it will not contain all the innovations present exclusively on the new generation console version.
Unfortunately, even in this case the answer is negative: it is only possible to play against / together with users who have the same version of the game, i.e. PS4 version against PS4 version or PS5 version against PS5 version. The Standard Edition for PS5 does not include the PS4 version within it. Only the Ultimate Edition allows you to download, install and play, both the PS4 and PS5 versions. From the Playstation 5 menu you will have, only and exclusively with the Ultimate Edition, the possibility to decide whether to start the PS4 version of FIFA 23 (for example to play with friends who do not yet have the new console) or the PS5 version (for take advantage of all the news on the next gen version)
In our opinion, especially for those who play FUT, this year the best choice on the version to buy falls on FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition. Thanks to the discounts illustrated above, it is possible to pay 80 euros and considering the presence of 4600 FIFA Points (worth 40 €), it is practically as if you were going to pay for the game only 40 euros, a cheaper price even than the best. offerings in circulation for the Standard Edition. All this without considering that, as mentioned, the Ultimate Edition is the only one that allows you to download, install and play, both the next gen and the old gen version!
At the moment there seems to be a bug, in particular on Playstation 5. As suggested by the official EA Help account, those who have the Ultimate Edition of FIFA 22, to temporarily work around the problem must start (and install it if necessary) the PS4 version of FIFA 22 and click on the button dedicated to booking in the menu, starting from the PS4 version.
